The Video

The "Mark Nelson" Website

Analysis

After speaking with California Investigator John Freitas, and an analysis of the pictures on "Nelson's" Website, it was determined that the properties of the pictures did not match the story being told.

Therefore we ruled it a blatant hoax.

Confession

In April 2006, Penn and Teller admitted that the film, was hoaxed, for their Showtime TV series, for a segment on Crpytozoology. Their motive behind it was to see how greedy some in the Bigfoot community were greedy.

The two main targets were the BFRO's Matt Moneymaker, whom vouched for the film's authenticity, and Tom Biscardi, whom from sources, tried to play it up for big money to the person playing, "Mark Nelson."

Lesson Learned

Plain and simple, a picture, movie or audio, any physical evidence is as only as good as the story behind it. No matter how good a piece of evidence looks, if the story is bad, the evidence is as well.
