New York Baby Footage

         Modena, New York 1997

This film was brought to the Bigfoot World, by Squatchdetective.com Founder, Steve Kulls. The videographer Doug Pridgen, took this clip of film in 1997, while camping. In 2001, while viewing old vacation videos, discovered what he in his words called a "tree thing" in the video. At first the Squatchdetective thought that the film was not going to be much of anything, perhaps a misidentification. The videographer sent a copy of the video to Steve, and what he saw astonished him in the frame by frame analysis.

What the videographer did NOT see was a large biped in the foreground. The "tree thing" appeared to hop off it's back onto a tree branch and proceed to climb (hand over hand) into the tree. The large biped moves from the right of the screen to the left and then back to the right and appears to "hover" in the vicinity of  the base of the tree where the "tree thing" appears to be having a good time.

The forensic interview:

The witness was interviewed for approximately a total of four hours at several different times and was forthcoming with all information. He quickly mailed the Investigator a copy of the film with film to film transfer (the most detailed). Locations, willingness to participate in on scene reconstruction, and ability to name, names, all led the Investigator that this was a sincere witness.

Hypothesis:

Many researchers believe it may be a monkey. Well the "tree thing" lacks a tail. Secondly the Campground was private and did not allow pets. Next, it is illegal to own a primate in NY unless you're a zoo. Finally, the common sense aspect, if you let he monkey (or chimp for that matter) just swing on a tree for the heck of it, wouldn't you risk being there all night, trying to coax the thing to come down. We also have to look at the actions of the biped, it didn't seem like a pet owner, just walking away after launching his primate into a tree. It looked more like a parent scoping the area for safety and keeping an eye on things.

The Tent:

The witness explained to me the tent was not occupied as the occupants were attending a party (and a pretty good one from the looks of it) on the other side of the lake. The witness also stated, "It didn't look like we did a good job." The event appears to be going on behind the tent and all is dark in the area.

Hypothesis:

Some researchers suggest that perhaps it was something on a rope and is being made to look like something other than it is, ie. a hoax. The motion in the trees of something obviously swinging in the upper part of the tree makes me not adhere to that theory, and the "tree thing" on occasion had some back and forth circular motion.

\Since it is mostly a "Blobsquatch-ish" video, it is not 100% conclusive. But here at Squatchdetective.com, we feel it has merit.
